Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos also the world's richest man, posted an interesting video on his Twitter handle in which he smile and gets inside an electric rickshaw, turns it on and drives fast. He even flaunted his name on the number plate of the e-rickshaw. Pledging his support to protect climate.
He (Bezos) announced that "Hey, India. We are rolling out our new fleet of electric delivery rickshaws. Fully electric. Zero carbon."
Amazon India announced that it will include 10,000 electric vehicles by 2025. "These Electrics vehicles are in addition to the global commitment of 100,000 electric vehicles in the delivery fleet by 2030 announced in the pledge signed by Amazon." said Amazon.
“Amazon India has been working with several Indian OEMs to build a fleet of vehicles that ensure sustainable and safe deliveries of customer orders. Significant progress in the India e-mobility industry in the last few years has led to advanced technology, and superior motor and battery components. In addition, the government's focus to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles in the country, and steps towards setting up of charging infrastructure with the FAME 2 policy has helped the company accelerate and chart its vision for electric vehicle in India," said the Amazon company in it's oficial blog.
